About Alf's Geothermal & Drilling

Alf's Drilling is an established and reputable company that was started in 1975 by Alfred Winczura. In 1988 the business was taken over by Darren Winczura which continued in the water well drilling field. Four years ago while doing renovations to the residence, we looked at other more economical and cleaner ways to heat our house and thus, the start into our geothermal business.

With the business expanding another partner had to be added to keep up with the growing demand in Alberta for a clean and efficient heating & cooling system for residential and commercial buildings. Brian Vitek came on board in 2006 and thus the establishment of ALF'S GEO & DRILLING.

Being neighbouring farm boys growing up in the country, Brian and Darren knew each other's weaknesses and strength's which, contributes to running the business they grow to enjoy more and more each day. Both families have been involved with installations including Brian's newest job a four ton vertical loop. The wives of Darren ( Jane) & Brian (Elaine) where also involved in a cancer walk which was sponsored by GeoSmart Energy & Alf's Geo & Drilling.

The spring of 2007 Alf 's Geo & Drilling hosted a very successful open house with both western Canadian reps Gary Meadows (Maxine) and Lloyd Johnson (Betty) on hand to give talks, answer questions and eat all the burgers their wives could cook. We designed a mini four ton loop which froze our little pond, heated our shop & hot water and cooled our refreshments. This lead us to our most challenging job, a twenty five ton pond loop for a house and shop. This included forced air & water to water units which have been very well received by our customers for its even and comfortable heat. It also helped us on our way to 20 installations in Alberta & Saskatchewan.

Working in the geothermal industry is a valuable experience for Alf's Drilling and for our customers. We get the opportunity to install environmental products and the customer is rewarded with savings and a reliable furnace that is built for a life time. We will continue to use geothermal products now and beyond. They're great products that anyone can depend on.

Deciding to go with GeoSmart over other competitors was an easy choice but a long one.
